Did you know that your body stores the pain of the past? When you’re emotionally triggered, your body often shows it. Have you ever noticed that once you truly understand something from your past, you start to feel better physically?

Our bodies hold onto memories and pain from the past, often more so than our minds. When we experience emotional wounds or issues that we couldn’t deal with at the time, our bodies can develop symptoms without us realizing the connection.
My personal Most Recent Experiences
When I moved to Arizona, I reconnected with family on my dad’s side—family I hadn’t had the opportunity to know well as a child. It was a wonderful experience, but it also triggered some old emotional wounds.
I was surprised by how strongly these emotions surfaced. Despite helping others work through similar issues, I found myself experiencing severe bloating in my stomach (linked to the solar plexus chakra) and other discomforts. The bloating persisted for over a month until I realized it was tied to the feelings of exclusion and lack of family connection I had experienced as a child. I had to become fully connected with my emotions, acknowledge them, and extend compassion and love to myself. This understanding allowed me to release the stored emotions.
Another challenge was the way this side of the family spoke about my mother (who is no longer in my life) while idealizing my father, who is far from perfect. I had to stand up for myself and ask them to stop criticizing my mother. Despite her flaws, she was present and raised us, unlike my father, who was often absent.
There were two things I needed to do: stand up for myself and confront the feelings of loss and exclusion from my dad’s side of the family that had deeply hurt me. While I was learning that these people loved me and wanted to be in my life, it was difficult to reconcile that with the exclusion my father imposed. Coming from a life where I often felt unloved, being immersed in a loving family was overwhelming.
As I worked through these issues and became more comfortable with being cared for, my body began to release the built-up emotions, and I returned to normal functioning.
However, moving to this area also brought up feelings of loss related to my stepson. I had raised him from the age of one and considered him my own, just like my two daughters. After his father and I split up, I was not allowed to have contact with him. They moved to Arizona shortly after our separation in 2007, while I went to Oregon, so I never fully dealt with the pain and confusion of that loss.
Now, living near them but unable to attend family functions due to his father’s wishes, those old wounds have resurfaced. The pain and loss from the divorce that I hadn’t fully processed have come back, and I’ve been experiencing bloating, pain, and emotional distress again.
I thought I was handling things, but I realized I had been suppressing my emotions instead of processing them. With the help of another healer, I identified the root of these feelings and began applying the process to heal. Energy clearing and daily self-reflection are helping me move through these emotions, and each day I’m feeling better and my body is returning to normal.
I share these personal experiences to help you recognize the signals our bodies give us when our emotional energy is out of balance, and to emphasize the importance of being present and compassionate with ourselves.
When I’m working on healing these issues for myself or assisting a client, I intuitively call upon the most appropriate guides, angels, and healing partners without needing to specifically identify them, as this has become second nature to me. For those who are newer to this practice, I recommend leaning on these particular angels:
- Archangel Raphael – The healing angel, who can help with his Emerald green light. Ask him for support in your healing process.
- Archangel Gabriel – Helps bring deeper understanding of what’s happening within you, especially aspects you are not be fully aware of.
- Archangel Michael – Provides protection, helps with clearing, and assists in cutting cords or removing attachments connected to what you are healing.
- Your healing guides – You don’t need to know their names; simply ask for the most appropriate healing guide for your situation and believe they are helping.
- Archangel Zadkiel – can help with his transmuting violet ray, to clear out stuck energy from the body.
Belief is essential in this process, as is giving the angels permission to help you. They can only help if you ask, so be sure to reach out to them for support.
If you’re not comfortable working with angels, you can call on your guides and healing partners instead. Ask them to help you understand and heal the issues you’re facing. They will guide you if you listen and stay open to their signs.
Energy work can be very beneficial in these situations, along with a guidance session. I can tap into your energy to help identify what’s going on and where it’s coming from, so you can work with those aspects of yourself.
Feel free to book a free discovery call if you are unsure what to book but would like some transformational support.
